SBU-SPJ is a student media organization that seeks to educate the community about the field of journalism, defend the rights of the student media organizations, and otherwise promote ethical and responsible journalism, according to the Society of Professional Journalists. We will achieve these goals by sponsoring speeches and lectures, holding our own events, and promoting an increased communication between the media and students, faculty and administrators. We may also include original reporting related to the media world.
