One of Stony Brook's most spirited groups is its cheerleading squad. The squad performs year-round during all home football games and men's and women's home basketball games. The current squad is an all-girl team consisting of hard-working, dedicated young ladies dedicated to upholding team spirit and unity. The purpose of the SBU Cheer squad is to support the athletic teams at the University by generating crowd enthusiasm and to participate in various community service events.
